In the growing industrial area of Burpengary, QLD, a new washbay installation required expert planning, coordination with council inspections, and a technical plumbing setup. The Citi Industries team successfully delivered underground and above-ground plumbing infrastructure. With precise execution, the project aimed to comply with local regulations and ensure long-term reliability for the wash bay facility.
Problem Faced by the Client
The client wanted a water system in the wash bay that worked perfectly and complied with all the rules set by the city. It had to work with the existing civil plans as well. Complex underground lines, installing tanks and pits, and managing stormwater are all part of the job. There could be no delays, and the next contractor couldn’t start working on the concrete until a professional checked the pipes, vents, and site compaction.

Solutions Provided by Citi Industries
Citi Industries designed and delivered a complete water system tailored to the project’s specific needs.
- In terms of below-ground infrastructure, the local council reviewed and approved all the earthworks for the tank, pit, and pipework that were located below ground. Workers compacted the excavation zones to allow for later concrete work.
- For ventilation compliance, two 100mm vents for tanks and drainage lines were put in above ground. They were placed on steel posts and raised to a height of 2.5 meters, ensuring they met all safety and air circulation standards.
- In compliance with the stormwater diversion system as shown in the approved civil drawings, a new valve and connecting pipework were installed to direct runoff into the designated stormwater system, ensuring that the water wouldn’t flood and the earth would remain safe.
- The team established a temporary point for the cold water line, as specified in the civil plan. This ensured that the wash bay was ready for use.
- We have double-checked for any leaks and then installed a 15mm Reduced Pressure Zone Device (RPZD) to prevent backflow of poison into our drinking water. Furthermore, this is particularly important because it is a valuable rule to follow at work.

Results of the Project
The team completed the job on time and in full compliance with all laws and regulations. The test runs of the underground pipes went off without a hitch, which was one of the most important results.
- Now that the building is ready, the next contractor can start the concrete part.
- A safe, up-to-code water system for a wash bay that works.
- Citi Industries has many satisfied customers because it handles things professionally and on time.
Ventilation, drainage, and water service installation in the washbay were all done correctly. This will help it last longer and reduce the likelihood that it will require future repairs.
