Problems
The original wash bay facility in Rocklea was plagued with structural and compliance issues from the outset. For one, there was no oil-water separator installed. Secondly, the drainage system was failing, causing water to pool. And thirdly, there was a huge contamination risk with no backflow prevention whatsoever.
On top of that, the existing slab was substandard concerning gradient. There was no venting, no pump well, and no practical way to separate solids from the wastewater.
With all of the issues mentioned above, the wash bay could not meet AS/NZS plumbing codes. These failures also violated environmental standards. There was, therefore, the need for rapid, safe, and professional intervention from our side.
In light of the identified problems, the next step was to deliver a complete and compliant solution.
Solutions

- Demolition and Site Works
- Demolished the triple interceptor and old concrete slab.
- Trenches for new drainage placement were excavated and compacted.

- A Fox FX1000SS Oil/Water Separator was installed.
- An Ultra Flow 1200L Pump Well was installed, enhancing the wastewater infrastructure.
- 100mm DWV pipes and HDPE stormwater lines were plumbed to connect to existing services.
- Compliance and control works the Reduced Pressure Zone Device (RPZD) was installed for safe water backflow protection.
- The diaphragm pump was installed with a float switch for level automation.
- A weatherproof control panel with GPOs has been installed.
- Fines and Signage A new concrete slab was formed at 1:80 gradient to the silt trap.
- Installed a grate and silt basket.
