Citi Industries offered a comprehensive commercial plumbing package within a commercial development at Booval, QLD. Coordinating with civil contractors during the entire project was ideal, and the installation of all sanitary, water, and drainage systems adhered to the compliance standards adopted by Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU).
As per the engineering plans, sewerage and stormwater drainage – which includes:
- Installing 4 stormwater pits and connecting 2 rainwater detention tanks.
- All cold and hot water rough-ins.
- Installing 4 hot water systems of Stiebel Eltron DHE27AU type.
- Fit-off of plumbing fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom.
- Install QUU-approved water meters and backflow prevention valves.
As part of the works conducted, this plumbing project in Booval QLD served the towns and is expected to last for many years in compliance with requirements set by local councils and utility authorities.
Challenges for the Client
- Development of the project was under three concurrent tenancies each with independent water metering and hot water systems without room for misallocation or compliance.
- A proper coordination with external civil contractors is needed for pre-installed maintenance holes, boundary meters, and stormwater pits.
- The installation of the water metering, RPZDS, as well as the DCV valves involved very accurate placement and official testing along with registration with Ipswich City Council (ICC).
- Too Sawed-Off Spaces behind Tenancies- Plumbing Fit-off must be done without disturbing any other utility service or interfering with the construction timelines.
Solutions Provided by Citi Industries
- Citi managed the complete plumbing installation, including rough-ins and fit-offs across cold and hot water systems, sanitary plumbing, and stormwater drainage.
- Installed four stormwater pits and connected two large rainwater detention tanks (supplied by others) to reduce runoff and meet stormwater design criteria.
- Installed three separate QUU-approved water meters (2 x 20mm, 1 x 25mm) for the tenancies, ensuring future billing and monitoring accuracy.
- Fitted 4 Stiebel Eltron DHE27AU electric hot water systems – each providing instant hot water supply to meet tenant demands.
- Regulatory Valve Installation of 1 x 20mm RPZD valve and 1 x 25mm DCV valve. The team tested both valves and registered them with ICC for cross-connection compliance.
- Finalised installation of plumbing fixtures for kitchens and bathrooms, including tapware, following best practices for commercial-grade durability.
- The team capped all future points as per the plan, allowing for potential plumbing extensions without disruption.

Result of the Project
